Welcome to the Backyard Ultra an incredible challenge of both body and mind!
This special edition takes place in a true backyard setting in Hedingen, starting and finishing in the beautiful garden of my mum’s home. The atmosphere is intimate, unique, and perfectly suited for this endurance adventure.
You’ll run a 6.7 km loop through scenic farm fields, past small ponds and wooden bridges, with views of Uetliberg, Rigi, and Pilatus. The route is a mix of road and gravel, with a few stairs to keep things interesting.

Start Time: 9:00 am sharp
Race Number pick up starts at 7:30 until 8:15 (be early)
Race Briefing: 8:45 am
Last Round: Starts at 8:00 pm
🏃 Course Details / Rules
The format follows classic Backyard Ultra rules:
Every hour, everyone starts the 6.7 km loop.
If you don’t return before the next start, you’re out.
No help from outside allowed
No walking poles allowed
You must stay on the marked course
If you’re not back within 60 minutes you’re out of the race
A whistle will sound 3, 2 and 1 minute before the start
If you’re out, please proceed to the race desk and sign yourself out
Run as many loops as you like, with a maximum of 12 rounds
Bring enough clothing and shoes, the weather may change
Bring a headlamp (the last round may be in the dark)
Bring a camping chair or similar and set up your transition / rest zone in the garden
We cross a lightly trafficked road twice, please watch for cars
No littering on the course
🚆 Arrival
Please come by train if possible.
If you arrive by car, park at the train station (about a 10minute walk to the venue).
🍝 Food & Drinks
We’ll keep you fueled throughout the day with:
Small breakfast 7.30-8.30 am
Pasta lunch from 12-14 am
Dinner / Soup 17-19 am with Grill
Sweet and salty snacks
Cakes and more!
Race finishing Party!!
Please bring your own special nutrition if you rely on anything specific.

The organizer assumes no liability. You must sign the attached waiver before starting.
