Working with Andreas Grob has changed my life for the better.
I have been working with Andreas to improve my running for over 18 months. I met him through one of his running technique classes in Zurich, Switzerland. I joined mostly out of curiosity and to meet other avid runners. Running wasn’t new to me at that time, but I considered myself a beginner. From the running technique classes I learnt quickly that there is more to the sport than strong legs and lungs.
Andreas is talented in many sport disciplines. His passion for sport is vast and contagious. Being able to profit from his knowledge and experience put me on the fast lane during my training. Andreas is not only a great coach, but also – and maybe even more importantly – a great motivator. His positive energy and upbeat attitude helped me get through the hardest training sessions and through the last kilometres of the marathon I ran recently.
I achieved several goals with Andreas’ help. My first one, running a half marathon in under two hours. It is worth mentioning that I don’t have the physique of a typical long distance runner with a height of 1.90m and a weight of over 90kg. I ran a half marathon before but not under two hours
and I suffered a lot through it. With just three months of training with Andreas I managed to run a half marathon in one hour and fifty minutes comfortably and without injury. I was amazed by the results and how easy it was to achieve this goal. I had never felt stronger and fitter before.
After two half marathons under the guidance of Andreas, I decided to run a fast 10k race. It was a spontaneous decision, giving us only a month of training after a month of relaxation. My goal was to run the 10k in under 50 minutes, which I managed to achieve. It was my toughest race yet and I
was happy with the result. It shows that Andreas is able to create training plans even under such time constraints.
I recently ran my first marathon in four hours and setting a new personal record for a half marathon. Not only did I finish the marathon within the expected time, but I also had zero injuries and recovery issues. We managed to stay on track despite the COVID19 pandemic, with Andreas
adjusting my training plan accordingly to fit the new COVID19 challenges.
All of the above races were performed within a time frame of 1.5 years, where I pretty much went from absolute beginner to running a marathon.
I had many memorable moments during my trainings with Andreas. One of the best was the solo marathon which I ran because the 2020 Zurich Marathon was postponed due to the COVID19 pandemic. Andreas accompanied me during my run, paced me, supplied nutrition and pushed me all the way. Because of his help I was able to concentrate fully on the run and enjoy it like one would at an organised public event.
I recommend Andreas Grob as a coach if you’d like to:
– improve your running technique in order to avoid injury and run more efficiently
– get fitter, stronger, healthier.
– lose weight.
– prepare for a race.
